If
all the beasts were gone, men would die from a great loneliness of spirit,
for whatever happens to the beasts also happens to the man. All things
are connected. Whatever befalls the Earth befalls the sons of the Earth.
~Chief Seattle of the Suwamish Tribe, letter to President Franklin Pierce

Claire Hernandez - Administrative
Assistant
Claire came to our shelter originally
as a volunteer in 2004.
With the rapid growth of our city,
a clerical job position became available at Animal Control and
Claire began working for us in December of 2004. Her varied previous
experience includes five years as a chemical plant operator and
seven years as a clerical aide working with Jr. High age students
in the Deer Park ISD.
She has two grown sons and two
grandsons. She received her Animal Control Officer certification
in July of 2007.
Claire says she enjoys her work
but regrets that some owners allow dogs and cats to roam free
and breed indiscriminately causing the animals to suffer. She
is pictured with Boogie, one of the three cats who greet the
public when they visit shelter |
